Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

Who will be doing the actual painting on my home or building and do they have experience?

The painters that will be working for you are generally local students who come to us with varying degrees of painting experience. As your local operator I make sure to properly vet and train each painter so they live up to the Scholars Edge standards regardless of their previous experience.

Will the price of my estimate ever change?

The price that you are quoted at will not change. The only time the quote will be revised is if you, the customer, decide to make any alterations in the overall scope of the project (i.e. add or subtract anything from the job, add a 2nd coat, ect).

How will your price compare to other quotes I might get?

Our prices are very competitive to other companies that also offer the same extensive prep work, quality products and who have the proper licensing and insurance. It’s important to compare quotes on more than just price.

Will the Operator have their own equipment on the jobsite?

Yes, I am prepared with all the tools, ladders and equipment necessary to complete any job.

Do you do interior as well?

Yes, our experienced painters are fully trained and certified to work on interiors.

When can you start the work?

I start producing my work once the weather is more conducive to painting. Typically early May is when we start our production season and we paint until the end of August to early September.

What kind of paint do you use?

We have a strong relationship with Sherwin Williams Paint and prefer to use their quality paints, primers, and stains. If you have another preference, please let me know during the estimate process, so I can do my best to accommodate your needs.

What kinds of payment do you accept?

I am able to accept either cash, bank transfer, or cheque, though cheques are preferred. I’ll ask for a 20% deposit upon signing to reserve your spot in the summer, and the remaining 80% only once you are fully satisfied with the work done on your home. Cheques are made out to Scholars Edge Painting.

How long will the project take?

This is a hard question to answer without knowing the full scope of the project, but typically an average project ($3500 - $4000) will take anywhere from three to four days to complete. I will be able to give you a more accurate timeline once we take a look at the work you want done on your home.

Can you paint stucco?

Absolutely. In fact, I strongly recommend you do. Many homeowners neglect their stucco as they believe it's maintenance-free; which simply isn't true. Click the button to see what we can do and more details:

Do you guarantee your work, and what happens if someone gets injured on the job site?

Yes, we back our work up with a three-year written guarantee of quality that is active once we finish the project until this anniversary date three years later. We also are fully licensed and bonded with $5,000,000 in liability insurance per occurrence. And if anything should happen to one of our painters on the jobsite, each painter is covered with full workers compensation insurance.
